Harcourts boosted by Ray White acquisition

Harcourts boosted by Ray White acquisition in Blenheim

3 June 2008: Marlborough Real Estate 2008 Ltd, which owns two Harcourts offices in Marlborough, today officially purchased the business previously operating as Ray White Blenheim, with the two companies joining forces under the Harcourts brand.

Marlborough Real Estate 2008 Ltd co-owner Mark Davis says the sale will result in the merger of the two companies’ sales and property management teams and co-location in the Harcourts Blenheim office, which is in the Post Office Building on Scott Street in Blenheim’s CBD.

“We’ve always had a good relationship with the local Ray White team and given the changes in the market the decision to bring them into the fold at Harcourts was logical as it enables us to strengthen our position in the local market, gain some excellent real estate professionals and achieve economies of scale,”

The merger will also benefit both companies’ clients, Mr Davis says.

“By combining our sales teams we can offer buyers a greater number of listings and sellers a larger amount of buyers.  Also, by joining our rent roll we can offer potential tenants a wider range of rental properties and achieve efficiencies in our property management too.”

Ray White Blenheim owner Donna Whitehead, who once the merger is complete will be 100% focused on sales, says she is thrilled to be joining the local Harcourts franchise.

“My team and I will benefit from the systems and support offered by Harcourts Marlborough and become part of a larger, high- performing team with a strong local reputation. That makes getting out there and selling real estate even easier and the benefits to our clients greater too,” she says.

Mr Davis says both teams are excited about joining forces and are positive that together they will go from strength to strength.

“Both companies are high-performers individually. Combined we’re going to have a team of 21 sales consultants and property managers and a much larger property portfolio, so together we’ll be a real powerhouse real estate company serving Marlborough.”
