NZB South Island Sale Entries Due Today

NZB South Island Sale Entries Due Today

Entries for the South Island's biggest thoroughbred showcase, New Zealand Bloodstock's South Island Sale of 2YOs and Mixed Bloodstock, close today (21 May 2008).

This unique Sale of untried two-year-olds has experienced steady growth year upon year, with a busy crowd at the Canterbury Agricultural Park last year competing hotly for the horses on offer to provide new record results.

The South Island Sale is building an impressive list of successful graduates, being the source of this season's Group1 BMW Caulfield Cup winner Master O'Reilly plus Perak Derby winner Kiko's Return and last year's Macau Derby winner Ka Lam Fortune. New Zealand Bloodstock Southern Filly of the Year Series race winners Cherry Creek and Thimble were also offered at the Sale.

With the domestic industry on the up, coupled with some outstanding graduates turning heads internationally, interest this year is once again expected to be high.

To be held on Friday 8 August at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch, entries will be taken for yearlings, two-year-olds, unraced stock, racehorses, broodmares, stallions and stallion shares.

For entry forms contact Entries Co-ordinator Mary Jane Harvey (maryjane.harvey[at]nzb.co.nz or 09 2980055) .
