Family Owned Vineyard – A Labour of Love.
Family Owned Vineyard – A Labour of Love.
What do you get when you combine a passionate Air Traffic Control Designer backed with a hard working family? Internationally appreciated wine. That’s exactly what Gary Dennison – Owner of Point Bush Estates has come to realise. A long held dream which has turned into a successful reality.
Dennison created his first Red Wine in Libya and everything flowed from then on. Point Bush Estates sparked as a discussion on the potential of the Waimate area in New Zealand as a region for growing grapes.
Point Bush is a new comer in the world of wine with its first plantings being made in 1990, making a fast catch-up in the industry already being an international competitor.
The timing of Point Bushs entry into the wine industry was coincidental to a dramatic rise of internationally exported wine from New Zealand. Only seven percent of New Zealand wine production was exported in 1990 compared to thirty two percent in 2000. This increase in sales and international recognition has definitely been a catalyst behind the success of Point Bush.
With the first plantings of the acidic green grapes in 1990, plantings of Sauvignon Blanc in 2004, Point Bush has produced an excellent 2007 vintage and grown into a small established winery.
From the initial ideas to the now flourishing and vibrant vineyard, has all been a labour of love. “We operate a paddock to palate quality process at all times. All vineyard work we consider a labour of love with hand picking of the grapes to preserve the fruit quality with great care also extended to handling of the wine through to the bottle”.
Producing high quality Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir. The hard working family has created a product dedicated to excellence in high quality wine production.
Whether you try a glass of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Canterbury Riesling or Canterbury Pinot Noir you will be realising the Dennisons family dream of providing the finest of New Zealand wines.
