Winter flavours on menu for Millbrook

Winter treats designed to warm the soul on even the coldest Central Otago day are on the menu for diners at Queenstown’s award-winning Millhouse restaurant.

Nestled among the world-renowned golf course at five-star Millbrook Resort, the historic Millhouse is the perfect place to soak up the ambience while enjoying outstanding seasonally-driven culinary dishes.

Complete with water wheel, flagstone floors, roaring log fire and stunning outlook over Mill Pond, the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Millhouse is complemented by its reputation for superb seasonal dishes and the finest standards of service.

New Head Chef Karijn Molema’s (pronounced “Ka-rain Mo-le-ma”) wealth of experience, passion and commitment to using fresh locally sourced top quality produce is reflected in the strongly regional and New Zealand-influenced cuisine choices.

“When creating a new menu, my aim is to capture the feeling of the season in each dish and to ensure freshness and quality,” she said.

Mouth-watering appetisers include goat’s cheese and caramelised onion galette, saffron and tomato broth and a delicious mixed seafood platter.

Mains include Hereford beef eye fillet, wild mushroom and potato cake with duck liver sauce, slow roasted pork belly served with proscuitto, butter beans and caramelised fennel, and manuka smoked Canterbury lamb rack with a hazelnut feta crust, pumpkin ravioli and sage butter.

Tantalising sweet treats range from the classic creamy rice pudding served with fig biscotti and apple marmalade, to the decadent trio of chocolate with Valhrona chocolate fondant, white chocolate bavaroix and hazelnut milk chocolate bombe.

Cheese-lovers will be drawn to a selection of hand picked local and imported cheeses, quince paste, truffled honey and farwasser wafers.

Each dish is perfectly complemented by wines from Millbrook’s carefully selected cellar, culminating in a five-star taste experience diners will remember for a long time.
