Fly Buys appoints leading relationship marketer
Loyalty New Zealand, the operator company of Fly Buys, has appointed Lance Walker into a newly created role as Head of Customer Insights.
CEO Andy Symons said the appointment of a person widely acknowledged as one of New Zealand’s pre-eminent relationship marketers sends a strong signal about the future development of Fly Buys.
“With a record number of New Zealanders actively engaged with Fly Buys, we have an unparalleled opportunity to understand the shopping behaviour and desires of New Zealand consumers.
“With Lance leading our Customer Insights team; the opportunities will only increase for participating companies to understand and predict the likely behaviour of their existing and new customers.”
Formerly Managing Director of Aim Proximity in Wellington, Mr Walker established the relationship marketing consultancy Limb Walker Partners with Robert Limb in 2003. In January 2007, Limb Walker Partners was acquired by the DDB Group to become Rapp Collins, part of the global Rapp Collins direct marketing agency network.
While in these roles, Mr Walker was a key strategic partner of Loyalty NZ.  He also worked directly with a number of Fly Buys Participants including Telecom, Foodstuffs, Shell and Contact Energy.
Mr Symons said this appointment builds on recent developments by Fly Buys, including the significant brand refresh, key executive appointments and the development of a Customer Insights team.
“Deepening Fly Buys’ customer insights capability is an essential next step, opening up a range of additional value-added marketing services to our participating companies,” he said.
