TelstraClear services and broadband speeds

Media Release 10 April 2008

TelstraClear services and broadband speeds still on top

TelstraClear still provides the country's fastest broadband and better value for residential fixed line services.

Today's Commerce Commission's annual report* again demonstrates the competitiveness of TelstraClear's services.

TelstraClear has topped the independent survey on broadband speeds and services known as the Epitiro report that was today included in the Commission's findings. TelstraClear's broadband is the market leader in terms of speed, including the fastest connection speeds, fastest download speeds, best ping times and shortest email roundtrip time.

TelstraClear Head of Consumer Markets Steve Jackson says the success of TelstraClear's consumer broadband offering keeps striking the right note with consumers. "New Zealanders are relishing the choice in the market, and flocking to TelstraClear. Our broadband customer numbers across the country have grown 55 percent in the last 12 months, with our PDQ Broadband customer numbers increasing by a huge 84% from February 2007 - February 2008."

Mr Jackson says the Commerce Commission's annual report validates what consumers are finding for themselves. "Customers now know TelstraClear supplies fantastic, great value for money telecommunications services around New Zealand. Our total residential market has grown by 15% in the last year," said Mr Jackson.
