Deloitte To Join Forces With Mccallum Petterson
Bolsters Corporate Recovery and Forensics
Expertise
Professional services firm Deloitte announced
today that it will be expanding its capability in the
Corporate Recovery and Forensics arenas when it joins forces
with the highly regarded corporate recovery and forensic
firm, McCallum Petterson on 1 June this year.
The McCallum Petterson team of 28 professionals, comprising staff in Auckland and Wellington and including principals Barry Jordan and David Vance (who will become partners in Deloitte), will complement Deloitte’s existing expertise in corporate recovery and risk management.
Deloitte Chief Executive Officer, Murray Jack, said the move was an exciting one for the Firm, and was a direct response to the focus on the needs of its clients.
“Given the challenging conditions in the market for businesses, we anticipate increasing demand for assistance in the area of Corporate Recovery so it made sense to bolster our resources in that area.
“The Forensics practice will enhance Deloitte’s existing capabilities focussing on the opportunities surrounding the hidden risks facing many companies. We’re confident that it will complement our strong existing capabilities in the area of risk management and analytical tools such as D'Tect.”
Barry Jordan, who will assume the role of national leader of Deloitte’s Corporate Recovery and Forensics teams, said the firm decided to join Deloitte to offer clients and staff the benefits of increased scale and access to global resources.
“Merging with Deloitte gives us unmatched capability and resources to help our clients in both the public and private sectors protect the value of their businesses, as well as providing the best opportunities for innovation and for the growth of our people,” he said.
It is anticipated the new team members will have their first day with Deloitte on 3 June.
