Epic Lager Now Available

Greetings

Here is the first offical email newsletter from Epic Brewing Company.

I thought this was the right time to send this email, to bring you up to speed with what is new, and how to follow along on the Epic Journey.

Epic Lager Now Available

It is with great excitement and a healthy dose of relief, to be able to announce that we have the arrival of Epic Lager.

Having done a huge number of tastings over the last couple of years, it was obvious there are a still a great number of New Zealanders not yet ready to take the huge leap in flavour to where the seriously hop driven Epic Pale Ale is.

Therefore I created a Lager style beer with only 6 hops per bottle (ha ha most lagers generally have less than one hop), which is still shed loads more than pretty much every other lager out there.

It is 5% alc/vol, uses Bavarian and Movarian malts (German and Czech), US grown noble hops, and a American sourced strain of lager yeast. As always the philosophy of using only the best malt, hops, yeast and water drives us to use these ingredients, at great cost, but totally worth it.

It is slowly making its way into stores right now, so if you can't find it check out the map, and ask in store when they are going to stock it, or send me an email.

Where to buy Epic Beer?

One of the most common questions I get is where to buy Epic Beer. I have created an online Google Map, which I try to keep updated with all the outlets stocking Epic Beer. If there is an outlet we have missed or that should be stocking Epic Beer, such as were you shop or drink let me know.

Latest Photos of Epic Beer

There is always something going on with Epic. Beer Festivals, Beer Tastings, Beer Awards, Launch Parties and other events. I try to get photos of everything Epic is involved in and share these images online.

You can also contribute/share your photos of Epic too by joining the Epic Beer group on Flickr.com

What is Epic Beer up to today?

If you spend most of your day in front of a computer screen then you can follow Epic Beer on Twitter. Somedays I will up date what is going on with Epic several times a day. Something for the real fans.

Also good for when I let you know which bar I am at shouting a few Epics for those Twitter fans that are prepared to turn up, at short notice.

I hope to keep you entertained and up to date with my adventure in California next week. See how many breweries, and different beers I can try in 10 days.

Epic Everywhere

So you want it all, want to get everything that is ever posted by Epic Beer online then you need FriendFeed. All photos, twitters, facebook posts, youtube posts, digg posts turn up on this one RSS feed.

I WANT IT ALL!!!

Finally, I'm heading to California on Thursday to be a judge at the World Beer Cup in San Diego. (yes that makes me one of the top 100 beer judges in the world).

Also of interest I have been able to get Air New Zealand to make on offer to Business Class and Premium Economy, Epic Pale Ale as a one off treat for my flight NZ8 to San Francisco on the 10th April.

Beyond judging I plan to see what great and crazy beers are being made by some of the best craft brewers in the world. I'll endeavor to keep you up to date via twitter so you can follow what I'm doing, and the beers I'm drinking.

Thank you for being a loyal drinker of Epic Beer. I'll continue to Twitter the trivial stuff, Blog the new outlets and news, and occasionally send an email like this to let everyone know what the important things are in the Epic world.

Cheers
Luke Nicholas
