Company 1-Day.co.nz enjoys April Fools promotion

Press release regarding the acquisition of 1-day.co.nz by Microsoft Giant Bill Gates today resulted in a successful promotional frenzy on April Fools Day.

“The phones haven’t stopped ringing since we emailed our customers and the press releases were sent out to media channels” says 1-Day Director Luke Howard-Willis. “In the doom and gloom predicted in the economy, interest rates and overall business confidence, I’m pleased we have managed to give people something to smile about!”

TV3 News, media publications and a huge flurry of congratulatory emails flooded the system this morning with staff fielding calls from a variety of organizations. Automatic responses advising well wishes the acquisition was actually an April Fools promotion, proving New Zealanders still had a sense of humor.

“I knew 1-Day was a successful company with rapid growth in a short period of time but Bill Gates buying it out?? I thought well done Kiwis!” writes in a passionate 1-Day customer.

“For ‘1-Day’ of the year if we can take the day more lightly than others, we will look back on today and see it as a success. If it also allows more people to enjoy the shopping experience on 1-Day then even better” concludes Luke Howard-Willis. ‘And finally, if Billy does give us a call and express an interest in our company, I think we’ll take the time to have a chat too”.
