New Editors, Northern Advocate and Daily Post
APN New Zealand Publishing CEO Martin Simons today announced the appointment of new editors for the Northern Advocate, Whangarei, and the Daily Post, Rotorua.
Craig Cooper, currently editor of the Daily Post, has been appointed editor of the Northern Advocate, succeeding Laura Franklin who was recently appointed editor of the Bay of Plenty Times.
Scott Inglis, currently deputy editor of the Bay of Plenty Times, will succeed Mr Cooper as editor of the Daily Post.
Announcing the appointments, Mr Simons said Craig Cooper and Scott Inglis had strong backgrounds in regional newspaper journalism and were well qualified for their new leadership roles.
Mr Cooper, who has 15 years experience as a journalist, grew up in Northland and previously held a number of senior positions at the Northern Advocate including those of chief reporter and news editor.
Mr Inglis has a 19-year career in journalism spanning three newspapers, the Bay of Plenty Times, Waikato Times and The New Zealand Herald. His roles include reporting and sub-editing, and terms as production editor, chief reporter and news editor.
Laura Franklin will take up her new position on May 5 with Messrs Cooper and Inglis starting on May 19.
