Preference) Bill get underway on April 2.
Renewables credits find ready markets:
Electricity generator Trustpower is finding ready markets for the carbon credits earned by its Tararua wind farms but
the proceeds will do nothing to insulate consumers from rising power prices. Trustpower still has 600,000 credits
stashed away from the credits the Government began issuing in 2004 for wind farms, landfill gas and hydro enhancement
projects. Selling the credits will do nothing to cushion consumers from future power price rises because they were
granted only for renewable energy projects that would otherwise have been commercially non-viable.
