Tait Electronics Limited appoints new director
3 March 2008, Christchurch, New Zealand
Chairman of London-listed company Clarity Commerce plc, John O'Hara, is the latest addition to the Board of Christchurch-based Tait Electronics Limited (TEL). John, who is based in Auckland, is also a director of Tekron International a Wellington-based designer and manufacturer of GPS time clocks.
"Having spent 20 years advising businesses on commercialising innovation, setting up Joint Ventures and negotiating Intellectual Property licensing agreements, John is ideally placed to assist a technology company like Tait as non-executive director," said Peter van Rij, Chairman of Tait Electronics.
"John's insight and international experience will bolster a strong team which saw the addition of former Nokia executive Rob Gill last November. This Board is continuing to develop Tait's strategy of focusing on niche radio solutions for public safety agencies, utilities and transport providers around the world," added Peter.
"Tait has a strong track record of innovation; its latest TP8100 portable radio being a prime example. The quick uptake of that product also shows Tait customers value these innovations," said John O'Hara, latest non-executive director of Tait Electronics.
"Among Kiwi companies, Tait is unique. Across the planet, Tait is out there winning contracts for large system sales, then designing and building the solution right here in New Zealand. Thanks to the inspirational selflessness of Angus, the money Tait makes can go into its people and future products, so they can continue to win even more contracts!" concluded John.
