Winger Subaru to the “Shore”
Winger Subaru which operates out of premises in Greenlane and Hamilton is taking over the Subaru Franchise on the North
Shore.
The Wairau Road operation is currently run by Archibald and Shorter.
The changeover will take place on April 1st with Winger Subaru North Shore continuing to offer full vehicle sales, parts
and service facilities.
Winger Subaru will become the sole Subaru Dealer in Auckland with its acquisition of the North Shore dealership.
“We have an excellent relationship with Winger Subaru,” said Chris Rickards, the General Manager of Subaru of New
Zealand. “It is great to see the Winger team expanding and extending its faith in our brand.”
Wingers is a long established Waikato business with its origins going back to before the Second World War.
Winger Subaru in Hamilton has been the Subaru franchise holder for the Waikato since 1972 and moved into the Auckland
market at the Greenlane site in 1999.
“This represented a logical progression for our business, particularly in the Auckland market” said Wayne Leach,
Director of Winger Motors. “We are thrilled to be expanding our business with our long time partner Subaru”.
March 1st has also seen the opening of Winger SubLab West Auckland for business in Central Park Drive, Henderson. The
satellite Winger SubLab will provide a complimentary service and parts operation to the two main dealerships.
A Winger SubLab already operates in East Tamaki serving South and East Auckland and in Taupo providing backup for Subaru
owners in the Central North Island.
