Philippa Jones wins HR Person of the Year Award
Crop & Food Research congratulates Philippa Jones for winning the supreme award from the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.
Philippa was named Overall HR Person of the Year at the Institute’s awards dinner in Wellington last week. She has also won the HR Generalist of the Year award.
Only last week Philippa moved to a senior strategic role at Crop & Food Research as the General Manager Corporate Services, where she will combine all of her accumulated business success in leading the HR, Information Technology, Communications and Marketing functions.
Prior to this appointment, Philippa spent a number of years shaping and influencing the workforce at the Christchurch City Council where she was General Manager HR. She championed the introduction of shared services at that organisation, as well as the council’s performance excellence programme.
Crop & Food Research CEO Mark Ward says the award is wonderful acknowledgement of Philippa’s exceptional career and professional achievements.
“We are obviously very fortunate to have attracted someone of Philippa’s calibre to come on board as part of our Executive Management Team,” he says.
The HRINZ awards are the pinnacle awards for someone working within Human Resources in New Zealand. Award recipients must demonstrate to the judges considerable influence and credibility within their profession, as well as an ability to enhance the image and standing of people-management practices within their respective workplaces.
Philippa’s career incorporates leadership roles in some of New Zealand’s most well-known and well-respected organisations including senior level positions with Price Waterhouse, Southern Cross Healthcare, Auckland District Health Board and the Christchurch City Council.
