$100,000 Carnival Sale Bonus

The inaugural NZ$100,000 Carnival Sale Bonus will be raced for at Ellerslie Racecourse on Mercedes Derby Day - Saturday 1 March 2008.

The 1200 metre race will be open to all two year olds, with the NZ$100,000 bonus payable to the first juvenile home who is a graduate of the 2007 Karaka Carnival Yearling Sale and who has paid the required entry fee to New Zealand Bloodstock.

Of the NZ$100,000, the owners of the winning horse on raceday will receive NZ$90,000 while the person(s) who offered the horse at the Sale will receive NZ$10,000.

The race also carries a NZ$35,000 stake to be distributed as follows: 1st NZ$21,000, 2nd $6,800, 3rd $3,400, 4th $1,650, 5th $750 and 6th - 9th $350.

Nominations are due on Tuesday 26 February at 12 noon. NZTR's normal nomination procedures will apply.
