BNZ Monthly Confidence Survey results
Attached you will find the results of our first survey of the confidence of Weekly Overview readers for 2008. Strong pessimism has returned with a net 46% of respondents expecting the economy to deteriorate over the coming year compared with a net 15% in December. There is substantial pessimism in residential real estate along with extra caution in tourism, commercial property, construction, manufacturing, retailing, and of course the farming sector which is being affected by drought.
