Ford New Zealand Warns Of Hoax Email

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 4 February, 2008

Ford Motor Company has been made aware of a hoax email that is currently circulating from the email id: fordpromo55@comcast.net. The communication states it is part of the Ford Car International Promotion Program 2008 and announces the recipient has won a brand new Ford SUV.

Addressed from a Mr. Harry Raymond, the email requests numerous personal details from the "winner".

"This is not a legitimate Ford promotion and we recommend that people do not respond to this email," says Brianna Elder, Public Affairs Manager of Ford New Zealand.

"It is not our policy or practice to ask members of the public to provide personal details and we strongly advise that anyone who receives this email does not provide any information.

"If the public has any concerns about the authenticity of any Ford promotions, they can obtain further information from the Ford New Zealand website www.ford.co.nz ," said Miss Elder.
