With the Christmas holiday period concluded students are back looking for more work says tertiary employment service, Student Job Search.
“Summer holiday work is particularly important to students as many rely on summer work to continue their academic studies”, says, Jill Wainwright, National Operations Manager, Student Job Search.
Students have around one month at least perhaps more, depending on the institution before they head back to study, so plenty of time still to get a student for around the office, home or factory.
Student Job Search offers a completely free service to both employers and students alike. Employers can call the local SJS office to list a job.
“Many small and medium sized businesses utilize SJS for small projects; part time and full time work over the summer. It’s great to assist the skills shortages that some businesses face” says Wainwright.
“SJS is particularly strong in the small and medium sized business sector, and increasingly is providing more skilled and technical staff through the wide variety of employers that utilize the service.”
Student Job Search is the third biggest income support measure for tertiary students after student loans and allowances and an incredibly important link for students prior to entering the full-time workforce.
The not-for profit organization is owned by Students Associations and is funded via Government through StudyLink.
