Jetstar to increase
fuel surcharges on international services
Jetstar will
increase international fuel surcharges on flights booked on
or after 17 January 2008 in response to record fuel
prices.
The fuel surcharge on Jetstar domestic services will remain unchanged at $19 (including GST).
The fuel surcharge on Jetstar’s trans Tasman and international long haul flights to destinations in Asia and the Pacific will rise by AUD$10.
- One way fuel surcharge on trans Tasman
services to increase from $45 to $55
- One way fuel
surcharge on services to Asia and the Pacific to increase
from $98 to $108
Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce said the increase was part of the Qantas Group’s response to record fuel prices with crude oil recently rising above US$100 a barrel.
Jetstar operates trans Tasman services from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast to Christchurch, New Zealand.
Jetstar operates international services from Australia to Japan, Vietnam, US (Hawaii), Malaysia, Indonesia (Bali), Thailand and Singapore.
