Hope Akld Council deal will give world class Wifi

MEDIA STATEMENT

CallPlus hopes the Auckland City Council Wifi deal will deliver world class network

Auckland, Wednesday 19th December 2007 - CallPlus is delighted that the council has moved forward in providing WiFi access for Auckland.

“We are assuming that council have heeded our input throughout this process and made sure that the successful candidate is actually going to contractually guarantee the timely provision of a 1,000 point WiFi access network with free public access to the Auckland business community’s websites, because nothing less will enable Auckland to take its place alongside the other great Pacific Rim cities” says Malcolm Dick, Executive Chairman of CallPlus.

“We await with interest the detail of this deal and whilst our bid was unsuccessful it has hopefully paved the way for Auckland to catch up to Sydney and Singapore as a leading commercial and tourist hub” Dick concludes.
