Businesses reach out a helping hand

Supporting business is becoming big business In New Zealand with a record number of organisations entering this year’s Vero Excellence in Business Support Awards.

More than 100 entries were received from a wide range of business that included insurance, courier, research, accountancy, local government, business, educational, IT and human resource organisations.

Finalists will be selected by the middle of December and the awards announced on 17 April during the Small Business Expo in Auckland.

The largest contingent was from not-for-profit organisations but entries were also strong from the university and government sectors. From a regional perspective entries from Otago were popular.

“The rigorous evaluation process coupled with the valuable feedback that applicants receive ensures that the awards offer great value to applicants,” says Mike Watson from the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation which provides the independent judging process for all entries.
