ICON: “Administrators Appointed” Sounds, Games Plus and Blockbuster Stores Re-open
The Voluntary Administrators of Icon Digital Entertainment today announced that on Saturday 24 November they re-opened 14 Sounds, 4 Games Plus and all 7 Icon owned Blockbuster stores for business. Please refer to the information on the BDO Spicers website for the locations.
Stephen Tubbs of BDO Spicers said that the Administrators had met with all major known creditors of the company and were working with those creditors in an attempt to maintain the core elements of the business with a view to selling it as a going concern.
“We have already received more than a dozen enquiries regarding all or part of the business and would be advertising nationally for expressions of interest in the next few days.
“We have also received many enquiries from holders of Reward Cards and Gift Vouchers. While the Administrators cannot redeem Reward Cards and Gift Vouchers at this time, the Administrators are exploring all opportunities for sale of the business and the Administrators expect to be able to make a further announcement on these in the next two weeks,” he said
The Administrators are also grateful for the loyalty and understanding shown by the Icon staff who have assisted the Administrators and customers through this difficult period.
