New Zealand School of Export open for business
The New Zealand School of Export will be officially opened by Hon Steve Maharey, MP for Palmerston North on Friday 7th
December. The school is a not-for-profit Charitable Trust dedicated to raising the long-term capability of New Zealand
companies, through internationally accredited professional qualifications for exporters, and has the support of Export
Year 2007 & Enterprise and Export New Zealand. As a niche provider, the New Zealand School of Export will work across the academic
and business divide, filling the gap between topical workshops and tertiary qualifications.
The school is a subsidiary of Export Training Services Ltd and is the country’s sole provider of the Diploma of
International Trade, which is internationally accredited by the International Association of Trade Training
Organisations (IATTO). Exporters completing the Diploma are eligible to apply for the designation of Certified
International Trade Professional (CITP), now recognised by the World Trade Center Association as the standard of
excellence for global business professionals.
Courses are delivered through distance learning to specifically meet the needs of exporters and those exporters already
part-way through the Diploma, highlight the immediate practical application to their business; relevance of the learning
materials and export planning tools; and the level of service and support as key benefits to them. Enrolments for
February 2008 are now open.
