Yellow™ going mobile
Yellow Pages Group™ is launching a tailored mobile version of its Yellow™ website yellow.co.nz on Vodafone live!
Expected to launch by early 2008, Vodafone live! customers will initially be able to search for information from Yellow, and shortly use their mobile to find locations on a map and even get directions to where they want to go.
Yellow Pages Group Marketing Director Blair Glubb said the mobile service will complement the company’s existing range of find-it services which already cover the print, voice (via the 018 and 0172 directory assistance services) and online channels.
“Significantly, this development will provide an on the go find-it tool - not to mention an additional medium for businesses to connect directly with those on the go customers.”
“This is a big step for us and will help us realise our goal of being New Zealand’s number one find-it resource,” said Mr Glubb.
According to Vodafone New Zealand’s Head of live!, Charlie Clementson, offering yellow.co.nz is another example of providing customers with the info they need, while they’re on the move.
“Wherever our customers are, they want to use their mobiles to find information as they do on the Internet at home or in the office. This innovative new service from Yellow Pages Group really helps our customers by giving them a direct link to the number one ‘find-it’ resource in New Zealand, when they want it, wherever they are,” he said.
In the first half of 2008 Yellow Pages Group intends to make White pages® available on Vodafone live!
Yellow Pages Group’s technology partners for the new mobile service are Denmark’s mobilePeople and Local Matters of the United States.
