Sharp buys in to the
Waikato
Sharp Corporation of New Zealand has bought
the Hamilton Branch of Bay Business Centre (BBC), it
announced today (Nov 2).
Sharp said it had bought the Tristam St branch of the photocopier dealership to operate directly in Waikato’s rapidly growing business market.
“Sharp Corporation already has a presence in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch,” said managing director Jan Nicol. “Now with our Hamilton branch we are expanding into another important and growing commercial market.”
Nicol said Sharp Corporation would retain the existing six staff at the BBC Hamilton branch, and continue to operate out of the existing premises which would be rebranded as Sharp. Sharp will provide quality ongoing product, support and service to Waikato businesses.
Sharp Corporation New Zealand is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sharp Corporation of Australia, which is, in turn, owned by Sharp Corporation Japan - one of the world’s leading electronics and office products manufacturers. It has 89 staff across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, including the BBC staff.
“Sharp is committed to developing and expanding its offerings to all customers and looks forward to partnering Waikato businesses and being part of their success,” said Nicol.
