Growth at Rakino Group
Auckland, 09 October 2007: Leading New Zealand industrial services and distribution operator, Rakino Group, has announced two new senior appointments at equipment rental specialist Hirepool Limited.
Andrew Messent has been promoted to the position of National Assets Manager, while Colin Wickman has joined Hirepool from Atlas Copco as manager of Hirepool Energy.
Messent, who has been with Hirepool for 12 Years, was previously National Workshop Manager. He has worked in a wide range of managerial roles since joining the company in 1995 and says “the experience I’ve gained so far will be invaluable in making the transition to this new role where he is responsible for over $50million of purchasing annually.
Meanwhile, Wickman, who was previously NZ Hire Manager at Atlas Copco for the last seven and a half years, will be overseeing the hire of all power generators and pumps and will assist with and plan projects on site.
According to Wickman, the challenge of the role and Hirepool’s culture attracted him to take up this offer, “which is in line with the direction my career is headed. I’m thrilled with the opportunity to join the Hirepool team.”
Tenby Powell, Chief Executive of Rakino Group says, “These appointments demonstrate the continued growth of Hirepool, which is also reflected in the other companies under the Rakino Group umbrella. I have every confidence that both Andrew and Colin will excel in these new positions.”
