Sonar6 wins international HR award

October 8 2007 - Sonar6 is one of ten chosen as a ‘Top 10 HR Product of the Year’ by international magazine Human Resource Executive (HRE) for its unique contribution to the field.

The editors of HRE magazine said that thanks to Sonar6’s intuitive and inviting user interface, it delivers to the market a solution that addresses one of the more formidable challenges facing HR departments – engaging managers in the process.

“Managers are likely to appreciate the ‘line of sight’ the software gives them. In addition to providing them with insight into their organizations and units, the software offers them a view of the performance of specific individuals. Nonetheless, it's the distinctive visual approach that truly makes this product a standout in the talent-management arena,” said the editors.

HRE magazine is the leading magazine for the HR industry in the United States and has a strong following amongst top level international HR practitioners including those in New Zealand. The awards are in their 19th year and evaluate products on their innovation, intuitiveness, the value they add to the HR function, and whether they deliver on their promise.

Auckland-headquartered Sonar6 develops graphics-based performance and talent management software that is delivered online with a simple, visual interface.

Director of Sonar6 Mike Carden said the win is very significant for them.

“The Top 10 award from HRE magazine shows our growing influence in the HR space internationally, and follows on from our listing earlier this year by international research and analysis firm Gartner Inc. as a ‘Cool Vendor’.

The Top 10 Product of the Year awards will be formally announced during the HR Technology Conference and Exposition in Chicago on 10 October 2007. Mr Carden said that the conference is one of the largest HR technology conferences in the world, and he is pleased that Sonar6 will be named a winner at the event as it gives the company valuable further international visibility.
