The National Bank’s ATMs are now talking more languages
In a New Zealand market first, The National Bank is introducing multilingual ATMs for Chinese, Korean and Japanese customers.
From next week, 130 National Bank ATMs nationwide will give customers the choice of transacting in Chinese, Korean and Japanese - as well as English.
These specially programmed ATMs will be strategically placed around New Zealand with an emphasis on Auckland.
Customers are excited about the new language options, says Graham Chin, Head of Asian Banking at The National Bank.
“We’ve already got 10 of our new multilingual ATMs up and running in key locations we know are popular with our Chinese, Korean and Japanese customers,” Mr Chin says.
“They’re telling us choosing the language that best suits them makes our ATMs so much easier to use. We’re delighted even more customers all over New Zealand will be able to use the service from Monday.”

Branch Network at The National Bank.
“Our ATMs will also help make it easier for Chinese, Korean and Japanese tourists, and our specially programmed ATMs are specifically located with this in mind. Over 350,000 tourists from these countries are expected to visit New Zealand this year alone.
”Different customer groups have different needs, and this is part of our approach to ensure we meet as many of those needs as we can.
