No Toxins In NZ Made Boardgame
Board game publisher, Matt Taylor, says "there has been a marked increase in board game sales since the controversy
emerged about Chinese made toys containing high levels of lead and other toxins."
Millions of Chinese made toys are currently subject to a world-wide product recall and this has raised the profile of
board games and is proving to be a boom for one New Zealand board game publisher.
Matt Taylor, publisher of the board game BreakScore, says "there has been a significant increase in parents visiting
www.breakscore.com since news of the high lead levels in Chinese made toys broke."
While many orders originate from overseas, Taylor says "the overall proportion of site visits coming from within New
Zealand has jumped significantly, thanks in no small part to parental concerns about their children’s safety."
Taylor says " parents are realising the danger that lead and other toxins pose to their children's health and they are
now very keen know the source of products that come into contact with their kids."
Taylor says, "it's definitely been a boom for business." explaining that quality board games "provide an excellent means
for children to have fun together, without endangering their health."
