Kevin Kenrick To Leave Telecom In Mid-December

Acting CEO Simon Moutter today announced the resignation of Telecom’s Chief Operating Officer Consumer, Kevin Kenrick, who is leaving to take up a CEO role at another New Zealand organisation in mid-December.

“Kevin has made a strategic and valuable contribution to our company at a time of gathering regulatory, competitive and technological change,” Mr Moutter said.

Kevin Kenrick joined Telecom in 1999 as sales and marketing manager for Xtra. He then moved into a broader marketing role for a short period before being appointed as GM Mobile in 2002 where he led the transformation of our mobile business. He was promoted to the executive team last year (2006) when he became Chief Operating Officer for our consumer division.

“Kevin has always been a customer champion, and as head of our mobile business transformed Telecom’s position in an intensively competitive marketplace.

“After eight years Kevin will now be moving to a new leadership role and we wish him all the best for the future.”

Mr Kenrick’s final day at Telecom will be 14 December.

“Between now and then Kevin will remain focused on his important role and supporting the transition of our incoming CEO, Dr Paul Reynolds.”

Mr Moutter said that work on finding a replacement for Mr Kenrick will commence early next month, after Paul Reynolds has arrived.
