NZ Team Strengthened With Three Executive Apptmts

MERCER STRENGTHENS NEW ZEALAND TEAM WITH THREE EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

Mercer has bolstered its team in New Zealand with three new senior appointments as part of a drive to strengthen its client service, sales capability and consulting offering.

Jon Lloyd joins Mercer from AXA, as the Head of Client Services and Sales, a newly created role which will be central to the delivery of Mercer’s KiwSaver strategy. Arvin Ram joins the team as Client Service Manager for the Mercer Super Trust, and Paul Newfield has transferred from Mercer’s Melbourne office to lead the actuarial consulting business in New Zealand.

Tim Jenkins, Head of Mercer in New Zealand said the new appointments demonstrated Mercer’s commitments to securing the best talent to help Mercer and its clients.

“The introduction of KiwiSaver has put workplace savings in the spotlight in New Zealand. This has presented us with an unprecedented opportunity for growth, and also a timely opportunity to review our business model.

“As a result we our enhancing our client service model and expanding our breadth of consulting services and our new team members will play an integral role in taking this forward.”

Jon Lloyd brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services in New Zealand and the UK. His most recent role was as Head of Distribution at AXA. Previous to that, he was General Manager of Lumley Life NZ and led the establishment of that business in New Zealand.

“As Head of Client Services and Sales, Jon will be a key part of our drive to grow our financial services business and become a more client oriented organisation,” Mr Jenkins said.

Paul Newfield joined Mercer overseas ten years ago and has wide ranging experience in superannuation consulting and actuarial work. He has also been responsible for the management of many of Mercer’s largest superannuation clients in Australia prior to his transfer to New Zealand.

Paul is an actuary and will lead Mercer’s efforts to expand the breadth of the service offerings of the actuarial consulting business, including notary superannuation consulting but also broader financial services consulting.

Arvin Ram, joins Mercer as a Client Service Manager for the Mercer Trusts. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in corporate superannuation in New Zealand. Mr. Ram’s diverse knowledge of the industry and a good understanding of the New Zealand market covers a background in relationship management and business development roles within the financial services sector.
