Western Australia’s Working – and we need New Zealand’s skills.
A team of recruiters is in the land of the long white cloud, offering lifestyle and employment opportunities for New Zealanders to join the boom in Western Australia.
Western Australia is booming and thousands of jobs have been created for skilled workers across a wide range of industries.
WA is leading the nation with a diverse, internationally competitive economy, but this level of growth has also brought a comprehensive skills shortage.
The Western Australian Government’s WA’s Working – Employment Roadshow is in New Zealand for three expo’s during August and September.
A wide cross-section of employers are represented at the three Government-sponsored expos in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, so that jobseekers can speak directly to those employers with the vacancies.
Representatives taking part in the expos are from the mining and resources industries, tourism and hospitality, the Western Australian Police, and Prison Services, the departments of education and health, major retailers, shipbuilders, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Expo’s will be held at:
Christchurch Town Hall 23- 24 August
Wellington Convention Centre 28-29 August
Auckland Convention Centre 1-2 September
The Christchurch Expo has been very successful, with over 800 skilled workers meeting Western Australian employers.
Western Australia has much to offer New Zealanders in terms of career opportunities, a safe community and an enviable lifestyle.
This is the third stage of the Western Australian Government’s “Go West Now” campaign which has also covered Victoria and New South Wales.
The Western Australian Minister for Small Business, Hon Margaret Quirk will be in Auckland to open the Expo on 1 September, 2007.
