Weet-Bix Stat Attack Cards Create Frenzy Amongst All Blacks Fans
The latest All Blacks promotion from Weet-Bix is creating a groundbreaking response from New Zealand Weet-Bix fans, with
demand for the ‘Stat Attack’ Cards stretching the Sanitarium Customer Service to its limit.
Tanne Andrews, Senior Product Manager – Weet-Bix said, “Our customer service team has never seen a response like this to
a card promotion and we have had to put on extra resource to cope with the calls and e-mails for the cards. At times,
customer services have had queues of up to six calls with customers waiting to speak about the cards.”
In fact, because so many people want to trade cards, a special site has been created on the www.weetbix.co.nz site for
people to trade cards.
Andrews continued, “There are pages of people selling their cards on Trade Me and people ringing customer service
wanting to do exchanges, so we thought it necessary to provide a space where people could trade with each other. We
should stress though that Weet-Bix cannot guarantee that these exchanges take place. We just hope that people will
behave in the spirit of an exchange forum. ”
In fact, a full set of Weet-Bix Stat Attack cards just sold on Trade Me for over $100 (you could buy nearly 25 boxes of
750g Weet-Bix at that price). Single legend cards are selling for close to $10.00 a piece.
At the recent Weet-Bix All Blacks breakfasts, several players played the game with their fans and were also given some
packs to share with family and friends.
Additionally, sales of New Zealand’s best-loved cereal have been very buoyant since the beginning of the promotion.
