Expert advice will create the ‘Right House’ for you
Home owners struggling with choices and options to make homes warm, energy efficient, and all while saving cash, will welcome a new one-stop service announced today.
Meridian Energy chief executive Keith Turner says the company has set up an innovative new subsidiary business called Right House – which will provide a service for people who want to create high-performing homes that are cheaper to run.
“Targeting homeowners, new home builders, or new housing projects, the service will integrate a full package of technologies with design and installation services to create an exceptional standard of health and comfort — and we have already fitted some demonstration homes,” said Dr Turner at a Meridian Energy press conference in Wellington today.
Right House will help people understand that investment in thoughtful design and resource efficient appliances will create a healthy home, as well as being good for the environment.
The head of the new business, Hamish Sisson, says energy efficiency is becoming major consideration for householders.
“Traditionally New Zealand homes have neglected energy efficiency, with the result that much of the country’s housing is well below par in terms of, for example, warmth in winter.
“There is now a growing awareness of the value of an energy-efficient dwelling, but there has been no ‘one-stop shop’ that provides services for planning and on the best equipment to use to achieve the best performance – until now.”
Right House will be offering its services throughout New Zealand within the next 12 months.
