NZ Home + Entertaining
Relaunches As Home New Zealand
ACP Magazines’ premium bimonthly home title, NZ Home + Entertaining, is relaunching with a new name, new paper and completely new look.
The first issue of the new magazine, HOME New Zealand, will be on sale October 22. “HOME New Zealand will have a clear and unerring focus on what our readers value most: the best New Zealand home design,” says editor Jeremy Hansen. Entertaining content will be dropped, and more pages will be devoted to showcasing the best domestic architecture, renovation, interior design, furniture and homeware.
The magazine will be completely redesigned, and be printed on a luxurious new paper stock. A new 16-page section to run in every issue will give readers advice on how to make their homes greener without sacrificing style.
“This section will be known as GreenHome and will have its own personality. We’ll give our readers practical advice on how to make small changes at home that will add up to something big for the environment,” says Hansen. Articles in this section will compare green products to their regular equivalents; showcase stylish products with green credentials; and provide thoughtful guides to eco-friendly home design and renovations.
Other new features – including an exploration of the best style shops around the country – will be introduced in other sections of the magazine, but the heart of each issue will remain the homes: around 50 pages of gorgeous photographic spreads on the country’s most stylish abodes.
Hansen says he will be aiming for a mix of highly individual homes reflecting the diversity of NZ lifestyles: “Country, city, and coastal homes from all over New Zealand; homes for families and singletons; lavish homes and clever homes with tighter budgets.”
The new-look HOME New Zealand is the latest incarnation of Building Today magazine, which launched 71 years ago and later went through two name changes: to Home & Building in 1937, and to NZ Home + Entertaining in 1999.
