Strong Interest in Stunning Rural Canterbury
Development
For Release: 27 July 2007
The lifestyle development of Huntersglen on elevated “gently sloping terraces amongst the rolling hills of rural North Canterbury” took the interest of a number of international buyers at auction last week.
Huntersglen is situated 35 minutes from Christchurch with its elevated position providing 360 degree views across the Canterbury Plains to Banks Peninsula, Pegasus Bay, right round to Mt Thomas, the Ashley River, the Torlesse Range and Mount Hutt to down the East Coast.
Marketed by John Davis (Business Owner) and Mark Tschepp of Harcourts Blenheim, as well as Alison Aitken from Harcourts Christchurch City, 14 of the unsold 18 blocks in Huntersglen were available to either to be purchased in one lot, or as a second alternative as individual lots, which would be determined at the auction on the day.
Interest leading up to the auction had come from a wide range of potential buyers, including from overseas, though it was the South Island’s Infinity Investment Group, the company behind the Pegasus Town development, which secured all 14 lots ‘under the hammer’.
However those amongst the auction crowd hoping to secure their own block did not go away disappointed as individuals blocks are now being remarketed by Alison Aitken, John Davis and Mark Tschepp with one sold on the day of the auction, and three others also under offer. The 14 blocks range from 3.9 to 15 hectares and are priced at $225,000 to $495,000 + GST.
Services have been installed to the boundary of each block including power, phone, water and a storage tank. Each property has access to a private road descending to the Ashley River and surrounding streams (renowned for trout and salmon fishing).
