PDQ Broadband - huge growth in first year
PDQ Broadband celebrates its first birthday this month, after a very successful inaugural year.
Pretty Damn Quick Broadband, launched nationally last July, has proved very popular with consumers.
TelstraClear’s Head of Consumer Steve Jackson says the broadband plans, which allow customers to tailor their broadband speed and usage to meet their specific requirements, offer customers what they want - ease of use.
“It’s been a great first year. We’ve gained around 28,000 PDQ Broadband customers and in the latest figures released by Telecom, PDQ customers make up more than half of their increase in wholesale broadband customers.”
“Customers have signed up because they like the simplicity of PDQ. Unlike some other providers’ plans, with PDQ you can enjoy broadband without the worry of a big bill at the end of the month. There’s no throttle cap, and far less chance of bill shock,” says Mr Jackson.
PDQ’s plans are:
•PDQ Launch - 256 kbps
download/128 kbps upload - $24 per month
•PDQ Turbo -
Maximum Speed download/128 kbps upload - $36 per
month
•PDQ Max - Maximum Speed download/Maximum Speed
upload - $44 per month.
PDQ pricing is based on a
12-month term and a $10 minimum monthly toll speed with
TelstraClear also applies.
Each month PDQ customers need to buy a usage pack to go with the plans, with 1G usage packs at $2.95 per pack, or for heavy users such as online gamers, 10G packs at only $11.95 per pack.
Along with first birthday celebrations for the broadband plans, the company also announced the results of their Vote PDQ survey. Around 5,000 responses were received for the survey, with 89 percent confirming that New Zealand should bring the world closer with TelstraClear’s PDQ Broadband, while seven percent voted to keep New Zealand a dial-up nation forever.
