Get In Quick To Become New Zealand's Best Chippie
Chippies around the country are being urged to get in quick in order to be crowned the nations best chippie.
Registrations for The Crisco Oils Best Chip Shop Competition 2007 are due to close at the end of this month.
Goodman Fielder Commercial General Manager Sales and
Marketing, Graeme Laurence, said chippies who have yet to
register and wish to participate in the country's only
national chip shop competition, can request a registration
pack by calling 0900 76543 or visiting

He said public voting for the country's only national chip shop competition will open on 1 August, officially launching the search to find New Zealand's top 90 local chip shops and a grand national winner.
"Last year, Fish Boys in Petone took out the top spot," Graeme said.
"As with last year's competition, this year we will again be calling for public votes via text messaging.
"The top 15 highest voted shops from each of the six regions that also pass a Heart Foundation-approved fat analysis test will be announced local winners."
All 90 local winners will be visited by a mystery judge in October, who will anonymously evaluate each shop on a range of criteria including chip freshness, taste and healthiness, shop cleanliness and customer service.
The highest scoring shop in each region will be announced a regional winner, and the overall highest scoring chippie will be awarded the grand national prize.
"Since the competition first began in the 80s it has grown to the point where over 400 shops participated in last year's competition.
"We are anticipating even more entrants this year, and with voting as easy as texting a unique four digit code assigned to each chip shop, we're confident of record votes," Graeme said.
The Crisco Best New Zealand Chip Shop Competition 2007 is the country's only national chip shop competition and is this year supported by Goodman Fielder, Huhtamaki, Bakels, Food2Go Magazine, McCain, Moffat, Mr Chips, Potato Growers of New Zealand, Premo Filtration, Southern Hospitality and the Heart Foundation.
The grand national winner is expected to be announced in November.
