Outrageous Fortune Tops TV Ratings

TV3’s hit local series, OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, launched its third series last night with its highest ratings ever, performing as strongly as the most popular international shows on air, such as the award-winning HOUSE.

The show, which stars Robyn Malcolm, Antony Starr, Antonia Prebble and Siobhan Marshall, attracted 465,200 viewers (5+) who tuned in to see the next installment of the West family’s escapades.

OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE, which is produced by South Pacific Pictures, was the highest rating show from all channels last night in the 18-49 demographic with a 44.5% share.

TV3’s NCIS attracted a 35% share in 18-49 with 444,700 (5+) viewers and 3 NEWS a 43% share in 18-49, 467,000 (5+), taking the next top two positions for last night’s ratings figures.

TV3’s other locally produced shows, MONEY MAN and TARGET also attracted large audience figures with a 26% share in 18-49, 329,000 (5+) and a 23% share in 18-49, 302,000 (5+) respectively.

Kelly Martin, TV3’s Director of Programming, says the ratings figures demonstrate New Zealand audiences support for local shows.

“We are extremely proud of Outrageous Fortune, and thankful that NZ On Air’s support makes it possible for us to produce and program a locally made series of this calibre.”
