Iconic Bluff ‘Paua House’ Sells
For Release: 16 July 2007
Following strong ongoing interest from both the local community and a number of potential buyers, the internationally renowned iconic ‘Paua House’ in Bluff has been sold.
The property was previously owned by the late Fred and Myrtle Flutey, with the most current owner, Ross Bowen, the Flutey’s grandson.
Steve Weir from Harcourts Invercargill who marketed the property and worked with a number of interested potential buyers, confirmed that the new owners are Australians from New South Wales. He added that their intention was to reside in the house as part of their move to the area to work in Invercargill.
“Coming from a coastal area and a town similar to Bluff they are very excited about moving here, and very excited about a number of features the property has including its large grounds,” Mr Weir said.
Set on a generous 1444sqm section, the 1950s three bedroom ‘brick and rough cast’ home has two living rooms and an office, as well as “spectacular views” across the main road, Marine Parade, to the sea.
