Success this week for Hyundai ... in sailing!
New Zealand's two silver medals at the World Sailing Champs in Portugal went to Hyundai athletes.
Hyundai senior athlete Barbara Kendall took second in Boardsailing while Andrew Murdoch, part of the Hyundai-funded Pinnacle mentor programme, also took silver in the Olympic Laser class.
For both athletes the success means qualification for next year's Olympic Games.
Aucklander Kendall, 40, already holds a full set of Olympic medals. She is now sailing the new RS:X boards which will be used at Beijing. She is a four-time world champion and has an MBE.
Murdoch, a Foundation Athlete with Pinnacle, is from Kerikeri, Northland, and sails at Takapuna on Auckland's North Shore. This is the highest ever result for the 26-year-old.
Meanwhile there's another silver medal for Hyundai. The company's National Fleet Sales Manager, James Williams, who works from Hyundai Motors' head office in Auckland, was second in the over-50 class at the World Bow Hunter archery champs in Switzerland.
"Great successes all round for the Hyundai team," commented Executive Director of Hyundai Motors New Zealand, Philip Eustace.
