Manukau Water Maintenance Contract Commenced

MEDIA RELEASE 2 JULY 2007

City Care Ltd Commences Manukau Water Ltd Reticulation Maintenance Contract

National contracting company, City Care Ltd will be drawing on its experience providing water reticulation maintenance services to Christchurch, Tauranga, New Plymouth and South Taranaki regions as it commences operations to maintain Manukau Water Ltd’s reticulation services from today.

The contract involves the management of public water distribution and wastewater collection systems within the Manukau district. These systems service a total of 328,000 people living in an area covering 552 square kilometres.

“In commencing this contract City Care is committed to further raising the performance standards and satisfaction levels for all of Manukau Water’s customers,” says City Care’s General Manager – Northern Region, Tim Gibson.

City Care has an existing relationship with Manukau Water, having provided pump station maintenance services since 2003. City Care won the additional reticulation maintenance work for its proven technical skills and ability to deliver a value-added service.

“We are confident in City Care’s ability to deliver a consistently high level of service across the reticulation maintenance work and this is why we awarded them the contract,” Manukau Water’s Chief Executive, Raveen Jaduram says.

“In awarding the contract to City Care we considered a number of factors including cost efficiency, incident response capabilities, innovation and continuous improvement, and standardising business processes. From this work it was clear that bundling all of the maintenance contracts into one would give the best result to Manukau Water.”
