PRESS RELEASE : 20 JUNE 2007
Do You Have The Bottle?
Search now underway for world's best bottled water innovations
The bottledwaterworld magazine awards are now in their fifth year and Zenith International Publishing is scouring the global bottled water industry for the best bottles in glass, PET, and alternative materials together with the most innovative marketing campaigns and concepts for functional and designer waters. The closing date for entries is Friday 27 July, 2007.
Further awards are being presented for the best label, best children's concept, best packaging innovation, best newcomer and the best sustainability initiative. The awards are open to products and campaigns introduced or reintroduced to the marketplace from July 2006 as well as those that are being trialled or are in the development process.
In 2006, the memorable competition attracted a record 135 entries from 30 countries. New Zealand's Waiwera Infinity won the award for Best Bottle in Glass while 42 Below, now owned by Bacardi, triumphed as the Best Bottle in PET and Best Press Marketing Campaign.
The judging panel last year included Europe's largest supermarket Carrefour, French design agency Dragon Rouge, flavour specialist Mastertaste and PET equipment supplier R Tool and Engineering, a company which has once again kindly agreed to sponsor the awards programme in 2007.
Past overall winners of the contest have included the on product publishing concept developed by Australia's Modern Media Concepts through its magazine on the bottled water range iLove, the river styled PET bottle by designer Ross Lovegrove for Ty Nant of Wales, the fridge bottle from Spadel Group of Belgium, the Icelandic Glacial PET bottle from Icelandic Glacier Holdings with its inverted mountain base and Vöslauer of Austria for its contemporary flavoured water range.
This year the prestigious judging panel will place special emphasis on sustainable and ethical endeavours. From lightweighting to energy efficiency and from recycling to eco-friendly initiatives, those products or projects delivering significant environmental benefits will gain prominence.
A full colour supplement is produced to accompany the magazine in which every entrant is given full photographic coverage. Global news coverage for the winners is assured when the trophies are awarded at a glittering gala dinner being held on 13 September in Mexico City, as part of the Fourth Global Bottled Water Congress organised by Zenith International.
