Escape With Sunday
Star-Times
This weekend, the Sunday Star-Times will
bring back the chance to ESCAPE.
The new, improved travel and entertainment section, Escape, provides the ideal distraction for a truly indulgent Sunday morning. Escape encapsulates that Sunday feeling in a 16-page broadsheet layout - a welcome addition to the easy-to-share format.
Fairfax Media have been on the road conducting nationwide focus groups and this, combined with extensive analysis and strong consumer feedback, has made clear what their readers want. Changing lifestyle trends have driven the revival and re-launch of Escape with a wider focus; covering travel, food, puzzles and reviews, and offering readers the ultimate guide to leisure activities, iconic traditional kiwi recipes and a full, ‘What’s on’ review.
The revamp has also provided the opportunity to make other changes: Sunday Sport – voted Best Sports Section at the recent Qantas Media Awards – will be strengthened with the appointment of celebrated cricket and sports writer, Richard Boock. In News, renowned author, columnist and journalist, Steve Braunias, begins a weekly Sunday interview on the back page. And for those who wish to stimulate the mind over a coffee on a Sunday; Focus becomes even more of a must-read with in-depth analysis and commentary on the major news stories from New Zealand and includes a new series, ‘World in Focus’.
Sundays are still better than others. The Sunday Star-Times was recently awarded Best Weekly Newspaper at the Qantas Media Awards for the second year in a row. This reflects Fairfax’s commitment to understanding the needs of its readers and evolving the paper. The revitalised publication is an improved read that will ensure the Sunday Star-Times retains its position as market leader.
