Winners of Media Competition Announced

MEDIA RELEASE

Winners of Fairfax Media’s Integrated Media
Competition Announced

Julie-Ann Hedges (Media Planner) and Jonathan Speed (Media Buyer) of Total Media have won the 2007 Fairfax Media Integrated Media Competition.

The competition sought to identify the best example of an integrated media campaign and was open to media buyer and media planner teams.

Sandra King, Group Sales & Marketing Manager, Fairfax Media, says entrants were asked to demonstrate how they had achieved client objectives in a multi-platform media strategy.

“We wanted to see practical applications of a core idea across two or more Fairfax mediums; newspaper, magazine or digital. This is certainly what Julie-Ann and Jonathan brought to their comprehensive campaign for Audi Range,” says Ms King.

Independent judge Kevin Blight of Mitchell and Partners commented that a number of entrants did not truly demonstrate integration; however the winning campaign showed a thorough assessment of the mediums on offer and justified their choices by bringing it back to the key target audience.

Fairfax Media launched the competition at their ‘Convergence 06’ leader’s summit event last year which was attended by more than 200 from the advertising industry.

The winning pair will be sent to the Cannes Lions 2007 Advertising Festival in France in June 2007, courtesy of Fairfax Media.
