No Sign of $7.5 Million Lotto Powerball Winner

Still No Sign of $7.5 Million Lotto Powerball Winner

It's been the talk of the town in Levin but a Lotto Powerball ticket worth $7.5 million, sold by Levin Mall Lotto, still remains unclaimed, says NZ Lotteries Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

"Someone out there is sitting on a rather impressive sum, and may be totally unaware that that is the case. They may not be aware of the talk going around the town, but we hope that it reaches their ears soon, and that they then get in contact with us," says Mr McLeay.

"I would also suggest to any Mum who received a Lotto ticket for Mother's Day, which was sent from Levin, to take it to any NZ Lotteries' retailer and get it checked immediately," he adds.

The holder of the lucky ticket has won a total of $7,575,893 with $7,288,657 from winning Powerball First Division and a further $287,236 from also winning Lotto First Division. The ticket shared a Lotto Powerball jackpot of $14 million with a ticket purchased in Christchurch. The Christchurch prize has been claimed.

"While we are really looking forward to meeting our winner, we realise that everyone has a different routine for checking their tickets. While some check it within a day or two of the draw, others will get their tickets checked once a week when they purchase their ticket for the next draw. So it is not unusual for the ticket to remain unclaimed at this stage," says Mr McLeay.

The $7.5 million prize is the twelfth (equal) highest amount won on Lotto Powerball.
