Rob Jager Appointed Shell New Zealand Country Chair
Shell New Zealand today announced that Rob Jager will replace Dr Ajit Bansal as Country Chair for Shell in New Zealand at the end of June.
Mr Jager will continue in his role as General Manager of Shell Todd Oil Services (STOS) in New Plymouth, a position he has held since returning to New Zealand in 2005. A New Zealander, Mr Jager joined STOS as an engineering cadet in 1978 and has more than 29 years experience across Shell’s local and international exploration and production (E&P) business.
“It is a great achievement for Rob, whose career has done a full circle from when he started as an engineering cadet for Shell Todd Oil Services in 1978. Rob offers a wealth of Shell Group knowledge and experience, as well as a unique New Zealand perspective,” said Gaurdie Banister, Vice President Technical, Shell EP International.
Mr Jager previously worked for Shell in The Hague, where he was regional Business Advisor for Australia, Philippines and the China West to East project and in Malaysia where he was Regional Maintenance and Engineering Manager for EP Asia Pacific.
Mr Banister added: “I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Ajit for his commitment and significant contribution to Shell New Zealand’s commercial business.”
“The last few years have seen the Upstream energy sector in New Zealand go through a significant transition period and Ajit has been instrumental at steering Shell’s interests during the transition, with his participation in the Maui Strawman negotiations (which helped to extend the Maui field life); the introduction of a Maui Open Access Regime; Shell’s final investment decision for Pohokura; and achieving commercial gas sales for both Maui and Pohokura. I also thank him for the leadership he has demonstrated across all aspects of the Shell businesses as Country Chair.” Attached: photograph and professional biography of Rob Jager
