ING three times award winner
Fund manager ING completed the trifecta and raised the bar again, receiving the Chapman Tripp Fund Manager of the Year award at the NBR 2007 INFINZ Industry Awards ceremony. The company’s award-winning investment management team adds this most recent award to those already received from industry research companies Morningstar and FundSource.
The INFINZ award was judged by actuarial consultants Melville Jessup Weaver on both quantitative and qualitative criteria. It singles out the fund manager that has demonstrated consistent long-term New Zealand asset performance, as well as quality and consistency of people and processes, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to its clients. Philip Houghton-Brown, ING New Zealand’s Chief Investment Officer, sees the longevity of ING’s investment team as one of the major factors in its success, as well as the diversity of skills and experience.
CEO Marc Lieberman agrees that the company’s success in this area is a reflection of the people. “Our investment team is an incredibly talented group, and they are further supported by a vast range of people and functions across the business. The consistency of their work is the reason we have been able to deliver reliable investment growth and performance for our clients,” he says.
ING has always had a philosophy of active management at all levels across equities, bonds, cash, listed properties, structured credit, asset allocation and currency. “A clear and constant investment process, based on fundamental research, and the development of innovative strategies have paid off in terms of consistent performance over the long term,” says Philip Houghton-Brown.
