Rob McLeod to lead Ernst & Young New Zealand

Ernst & Young today announced that well known New Zealand business leader Rob McLeod will join the firm next month as Managing-Partner, New Zealand.

Mr McLeod has a long and distinguished professional career as a specialist tax practitioner with experience across all facets of taxation and as a director of a number of organisations. This appointment sees Mr McLeod return to Ernst & Young New Zealand where he was Chairman from 2002 to 2004.

In taking the role Mr McLeod said: “I clearly know Ernst & Young well and am delighted to be rejoining the firm and to be leading the NZ practice. Ernst & Young is a highly regarded and reputable firm in New Zealand - with three offices, great people and a solid client base - I am really looking forward to the opportunity to further build and grow the business."

James Millar, Area Managing Partner Oceania Ernst & Young said: “Rob returning to the firm is a real win for us and we know that our people and our clients will benefit from his strong leadership and his extensive business experience."

Chair of the New Zealand Business Roundtable, Mr McLeod is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars throughout New Zealand. He was this year also appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Board of Asia 2000.

Current Managing-Partner John Judge is retiring from the Ernst & Young partnership at 30 June 2007.
