Award-winning RaboPlus lifts all interest rates
Wellington – RaboPlus, the online banking service from Rabobank, is today lifting all its on-call and term deposit rates by up to 0.20 percentage points, as part of its commitment to offer the highest interest rates in the market.
The new rates come hot on the heels of a RaboPlus clean sweep in all eligible categories in the Sunday Star Times Cannex Banking Awards at the weekend. RaboPlus won the Best Online Account, the Best Term Deposit – 90 Days, and the Best Term Deposit – One Year awards.
“We were delighted at the hat-trick as it shows that RaboPlus offers the best value to customers and the highest possible returns,” RaboPlus General Manager Mike Heath said.
“The new rates we’re announcing today are even higher than our already award-winning rates. We are constantly assessing our offering to make sure we give our customers market-leading rates, and never rest on our laurels,” he said.
“We will continue to work hard to ensure our customers get the best possible returns on their hard-earned money,” Mr Heath said.
In the Sunday Star Times Cannex awards, RaboPlus was described as having a “strategy based around extremely aggressive pricing, and the toughest anti-internet protections of any bank. It's also super secure, AAA rated by Standard & Poor's, the best credit rating of any bank in New Zealand. “
Further quotes from the Sunday Star-Times Cannex Banking Awards in praise of RaboPlus accounts and rates include:
Best Online Account – Really, there was only ever going to be one winner in this area: Rabobank, which has no expensive branch network to run, mass of employees to pay, or buildings overheads.
Best Term Deposit, 90 days – Entrants in this category were ranked on the average interest they paid over the past year on a term deposit of $10,000. Rabobank, with its aggressive pricing, carried the day, making a big case for it being every New Zealander's savings bank, or "bit on the side".
Best Term Deposit, One Year – This award completes the hat-trick for Rabobank, which has brought a new level of competition to deposit rates for consumers.
